The Parable of The Sheep and The Goats

Welcome to our summer sermon series, "Shareable Parables," where we dive into the parables of Jesus. These short stories carry meaningful truths and provide a glimpse into the kingdom of heaven. Jesus used parables to challenge misconceptions about God's kingdom, emphasizing humility and inclusivity.

At Westside, we explore these parables to avoid falling into the trap of Christian elitism. It's easy to think that our Christian activities and outward appearances make us worthy of God's kingdom. However, true holiness is not achieved by our own standards but by God's grace in our lives. Let's uncover the profound message in the Parable of The Sheep and The Goats.

In this parable, Jesus reveals that He will come again in all His glory. There is no doubt about His divinity and the truth of His words. Jesus will separate the nations, distinguishing between the Sheep and the Goats. The distinguishing factor lies in their actions and attitudes towards others.

As believers, we may face challenges and feel like outcasts for standing up for God's glory. But hold on! Remember, there is more to life than what we see now. We have the hope of seeing Him face to face, and in His presence, the holy will find eternal happiness. The holy are those who humbly serve, show hospitality, are helpful, and honor others.

Remember, there is more to life than what we see now.
— Pastor Med

Being holy doesn't come from our own efforts; it is a result of God's grace working in us. We are called to love and serve our brothers and sisters in Christ, not just with words but with actions that reflect God's love for us. Let's strive to know and support our fellow believers, extending a helping hand whenever possible.

However, those who pretend to love God while harboring hatred for their brothers and sisters are not genuinely following Him. We must be honest in our love and commitment to others, just as Jesus is honest in His love for us. Let us prioritize honesty, integrity, and genuine love in our lives.

Honesty and integrity are crucial character traits for every believer.

Jesus takes our commitment to love others seriously because He takes His commitment to love us seriously. He desires that none of us remain deceived, thinking we are "okay" when we are in danger. We must lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters, following the example of our brother and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Remember, the call for every genuine believer is to love sacrificially, not hoarding our time, talents, or treasures, but extending them to those in need. Let's embrace the Crew Love mindset, loving one another as Christ has loved us.

Join us as we continue to explore the parables of Jesus and deepen our understanding of God's kingdom. We invite you to be part of our loving community at Westside. Together, let's live out the message of Crew Love and make a difference in the world.
